THE PROS AND CONS OF CONSERVATORY INSULATED AND TILED ROOFS
There are approximately four million homeowners who have conservatories in the UK. Some of them inherited the conservatory when they bought the house but the majority of them had the conservatory built themselves at some considerable expense. What is for sure is that everyone had a reason for having a conservatory built and, in most cases, that reason was to provide more room to be able to use all year round. Unfortunately, conservatories don’t provide comfort all year round because they get too hot in the summer due to the sun’s rays and too cold in the winter due to poor insulation.
Another problem that a lot of people with conservatories are facing is that the roof is now out of their ten year guarantee period and leaks are either starting to appear or will start soon. This is particularly true of polycarbonate roofs.
Many people have spent a fortune on blinds for their conservatory to stop UV rays and blinding sunlight but they don’t help to keep the place warm in the winter and they are good at gathering dust and dead insects.
It is now fashionable and sensible to consider replacing a glass or polycarbonate conservatory roof with an insulated ceiling or an insulated ceiling and insulated tiled roof. Either of these options will solve the problems already mentioned and the cost will be more than compensated for by the increase in the value of the house and the ability to use the room throughout the year in comfort.
An insulated ceiling comes in two finishes. It can be either a plaster finish or a UPVC shiplap finish and both options are easy to maintain. The tiles used are Tapco tiles which have a forty year manufacturer’s warranty.
IT COSTS NOTHING TO FIND OUT MORE AND THERE IS NO OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER.
